The Sonnenkinderprojekt sponsored this activity with roundabout 300,000 N$ (approx. 22,000 EUR). Only this contribution enabled the school to tackle the project. In his thank you letter the school principal, Mr Olivier, wrote the following:
“Hereby we would like to express our deepest gratitude to the Sonnenkinderprojekt for the support in the construction of our preschool classroom. On behalf of the Hardap region, the regional education officer would also like to thank the Sonnenkinderprojekt for the kind-hearted donation to our school for the sake of the children. The classroom is already in use.”
Already, further projects are in planning. Parts of the next months’ agenda are e.g. the urgently required restoration of the roof (rain is coming through/mould formation) at the Swakopmund Primary School and the construction of a necessary school kitchen at the Khomas Primary School in Windhoek.
Further projects are planned for 2016 in collaboration with the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and bengo (global activities).
